1995年《怪王外传》央视首播，后分别在在央视1、2、3、4、8套和全国各省市电视台、有线电视台热播，在全国尤其是北方地区产生巨大影响。该剧主要描述在东北农村，足智多谋的怪王带领乡亲们致富，并助人为乐、惩恶扬善、扶正祛邪的一系列故事。全剧人物语言诙谐幽默，人物性格特点鲜明，具有鲜明的时代特色和浓郁的乡土风情。是当时为数不多的具有浓郁农村特色的乡村喜剧，由此奠定了东北农村喜剧的基础。。‘Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable’ charts the story behind Damien Hirst’s most ambitious project to date.
